Training Curriculum Developer

Job Title: Training Curriculum Developer | Location: Middletown, RI | Full-Time

Description of Work:

PURVIS Systems is a technology solutions company that develops, implements, and maintains mission-critical solutions for Federal and Local Governments.  We have an immediate opening for a Training Curriculum Developer supporting the Littoral Combat System Variable Depth Sonar (LCS VDS) project.

Responsibilities: 

Training Curriculum Developer candidate will provide technical support as required to analyze, develop, review, update, and validate various U.S. Navy training products and materials.  Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting Job Duty Task Analyses (JDTAs) and Front-End Analyses (FEAs).
  • Converting and updating draft operation and maintenance training products from MS Word and PowerPoint into formal course materials (training curriculum, interactive courseware, and computer-based training) and formal Fleet curriculum in both Interactive Multimedia Instruction and Instructor-led Training formats.
  • Developing exit criteria and course surveys to validate content, environmental factors, delivery, and effectiveness of training materials.
  • Supporting or coordinating customer and prime contractor meetings, teleconferences, and in-process reviews (IPRs).
  • Coordinating and conducting training presentations to stakeholders.
  • Generation of routine metrics in support of program reviews, customer data requests and Subcontractor Deliverable Requirements List (SDRL) submittals.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is desired. Consideration will also be given to those without a degree and an additional five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • 5 years of civilian or military professional experience providing training development, analysis, and training support with demonstrated experience in reviewing Fleet training requirements to determine training program needs; developing and reviewing training documentation for individual and crew training, or new equipment training, including curricula, operator or maintenance lesson plans, and trainee guides.
  • Working knowledge of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methods, OPNAV Instruction 1500.76C (Naval Training Systems Requirements, Acquisition, and Management), as well as NAVEDTRA 130-140 Series Manuals.
  • Experience working with Authoring Instructional Material (AIM) Content Planning Module (CPM) and Learning Objects-Module (LOM) to create or update Navy course curriculum, including input of course control documentation.
  • Ability to work closely with Subject Matter Experts and Navy military and civilian personnel.

Candidate must have or be able to obtain a government security clearance to the level of SECRET.
