Implementing a Turn-Key Fire Station Alerting System

Jacksonville is the most populous city in the state of Florida and the southeastern United States. It is also the largest city by area in the contiguous United States. The Jacksonville metropolitan area has a population of 1,523,615 people.

PURVIS implemented a turn-key Fire Station Alerting System (FSAS) to automate alerts for the City of Jacksonville. The system is installed in 59 fire stations located throughout the City and. PURVIS installed speakers and amplifiers connected to an existing radio in 6 other stations throughout the City for radio alerting.

Dispatch components of the system include PURVIS FSAS Central Servers, an interface to the City’s Motorola CAD system which was developed by PURVIS, and the PURVIS FSAS Dispatch Management Console for system monitoring, backup manual alerting, reporting and configuration. Station devices installed with the system include the PURVIS FSAS Station Control Unit, Amplifiers, Speakers, Printers, Touch Screen Monitors, Flat Panel Displays, Acknowledgement Buttons, Mute Buttons and Surge Protectors.
