Logistics Analyst (Shipping and Receiving)

Job Title: Logistics Analyst (Shipping and Receiving) | Location: Middletown, RI | Full-Time

Description of Work:

PURVIS Systems has an immediate opening for a Logistics Analyst to support the Receiving Inspector to inspect purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials for conformance to specifications, examine items for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in transit, compare quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order. Inspector shall approve or reject items, and records inspection and disposition information for documentation in PDREP (Product Data Reporting and Evaluation Program).

Responsibilities: 

The Logistics Analyst will:

  • Read labels, tags, identification plates, and stenciled markings to ensure that items, such as serial and part numbers correspond with Invoice and Shipping Document (DD-1149) to determine if correct parts are present.
  • Examine parts to ensure that they are securely mounted and or packaged to prevent damage.
  • Ensure all databases are accurate.
  • Perform operational analysis of fleet materials and disposition of fleet materials.
  • Continuously evaluate materials to identify problems and material parts needed to be turned in for repair.
  • Conduct timely reviews, reconciliations, and follow-ups for all receipt inspection shortages and outstanding requisitions to ensure proper supply support.
  • Enter received and removed parts/material from the inventory in Catalog Ordering Logistic Tracking System (COLTS) database.
  • Maintain daily configuration changes concerning parts/supplies and installed assemblies.
  • Conduct inventories of on-hand material.

Qualifications: 

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Willing to learn and operate an electric pallet jack.
  • Willing to learn and operate a fork-lift.
  • Accuracy, quality, and attention to detail are critical required skills.
  • Knowledge of Navy systems and equipment a plus.

Candidate must have or be able to obtain a government security clearance to the level of SECRET.
