Help Desk Service Technician

Job Title: Help Desk Service Technician | Location: Bronx, NY | Full-Time

PURVIS Systems is a technology leader in the public safety industry and provides state of the art system solutions to Fire Departments across the United States.  We are seeking resumes for a Help Desk Technician who will be responsible for maintaining computer and communication systems.

Description of Work:

Looking for a tech-minded Help Desk Technician to be responsible for providing IT support, troubleshooting, and identifying solutions. Primary responsibility will be to respond to service requests.  Position will aid with technical problems.  This involves communications via email, service ticket or telephone.  Position will be to troubleshoot and rectify computer and/or network problems.

Position involves all aspects of computer systems configuration, set up and maintenance.  This involves new hardware and software, as well as existing systems.

Position is on-site at customer location and will primarily support both day and night 12-hour work shifts.  Candidate must be flexible to support all shifts, as needed with ample notice. 

Position will require heavy lifting of equipment on occasion, commensurate with job requirements.

Qualifications: 

Associates Degree preferred or technical Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.  A minimum of 2+ years of work-related experience in the field of IT Support is preferred.  Candidates with a technical school or apprenticeship program in related field of electrical or electronic support.  Must have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of work experience. 

Candidate must be familiar with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 through 2016.  Must demonstrate knowledge of and experience in configuring desktop and laptop computers with Windows 10 and later.  Must have working knowledge of standard network protocols and troubleshooting. 

Candidate must have good problem-solving, analytical, and team-working skills.  An openness to learning new technologies. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.  Must be able to work well alone and with others.  Must be able to successfully handle multiple priorities simultaneously, as required. 

Individual must be able to pass an FBI criminal background check.  No sponsorship available.
