Technical Project Manager

Job Title: Technical Project Manager |  Location: Newport, RI | Full-Time

Description of Work:

PURVIS Systems is seeking a Technical Project Manager to manage a portfolio of Navy contracts.  The Technical Project Manager will work directly with team members including system installers, trainers, and developers.  They will coordinate all aspects of the projects, including technical milestones, schedules, deliverables, materials, inventory, and budgets.

Responsibilities: 

This position is key to the success of multiple projects/contracts, ensuring that the operations, installation, training, and development teams have the direction, material, and documentation they need to succeed.

Working closely with subject matter experts and the Navy customer, the Project Manager will oversee and participate in/lead:

  • Maintenance and staffing of project installation and training schedules.
  • Technical project meetings with team and the customer to review project status and plans.
  • Research/plan system software/hardware improvements and enhancements.
  • Generate / review overall process documentation to include but not limited to installation, groom, and removal processes.
  • Completion and tracking all project deliverables (CDRLs), and milestones to ensure successful project execution.
  • Maintain inventory and tracking of system hardware/components.
  • Work with subject matter expert to coordinate system software updates across multiple development teams.
  • Development of project budgets.
  • Supervision of project personnel.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical or Management discipline.
  • 5-10 years Navy submarine experience.
  • Experience with managing Navy contracts.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Candidate must have or be able to obtain a government security clearance to the level of SECRET/TOP SECRET.
