Job Title: Software Developer | Location: Newport, RI | Full-Time

Description of Work:

PURVIS Systems is seeking a talented software developer to join a team.

Responsibilities: 

• The Software Developer will work closely with a team of developers on browser-based applications in a Linux environment using Agile development methodologies and tools.  The candidate will be responsible for, or act as, the technical lead for tasking, collaboration and interaction with customers and colleagues. The position requires creative thinking and problem-solving. Ideal candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work closely with both technical and business teams. 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent engineering/technical degree with a concentration in computer science.  Experience should include 2 – 4 years in software engineering including requirements analysis, problem analysis and resolution, design, and development. Candidates will have the following skills:

• Developing software in C++ in a Linux environment.
• Ideally, experience using the Qt Framework and Qt Creator IDE for developing Graphical User Interface (GUI) layouts.

• Ability to modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, upgrade interfaces and/or improve performance.

• Familiarity with Agile Development methodology the associated tools.
• Experience using Atlassian tools a plus.
• Writing software requirements and design documentation.

Candidate must have or be able to obtain a government security clearance to the level of SECRET.
