Job Title: Network Engineer | Location: Brooklyn, NY | Full-Time
PURVIS Systems is a technology leader in the public safety industry and provides state of the art system solutions to Fire Departments across the United States. We are seeking resumes for a Network Engineer as a member of IT Network Team, who will be responsible for developing and maintaining email and data security technologies.
Description of Work:
The job opening is for an experienced senior network engineer that will design, deploy, and support the growing enterprise environment. The network architect responsibilities will include leading projects involving LAN, WAN, Datacenter, Spine/Leaf technology, Wireless, Cloud, etc. Our infrastructure is Cisco based, but we have also incorporated Palo Alto, Arista, Fortinet, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Working with other network architects to vet design prior to implementation
- Technical documentation including writing and drawing network diagrams
- Work with vendors, carriers, and other technical groups to implement new designs and optimize the network.
- Troubleshooting level 3 network support issues.
- Knowledge transfer of network design to the rest of the team.
- Adhere to security policies from a network perspective
- Strong communication skills with management to keep them abreast of day-to-day operations as well as future implementations
- Analyze the network and implement solutions to increase uptime efficiency and security.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years Network Engineering experience
- Cisco CCIE Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
- Work with vendors, carriers, and other technical groups to implement new designs and optimize the network.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, etc.…)
- Understanding of campus and datacenter switching using Cisco and Arista.
- Ability to implement VxRail into a network environment
- Knowledge of deploying and maintaining Next Generation Firewalls including Cisco, Palo alto, Fortinet, Forcepoint, etc.
- Capable of deploying and supporting Cisco DNA
- Understanding of software defined networking technologies for datacenters such as Cisco ACI or Arista Cloudvision
- Strong background in F5 load balancing
- Ability to migrate services between datacenters
- Understanding of the various VPN technologies
- Familiarity with Infoblox to maintain public facing DNS services as well as IPAM
- Design and maintenance of wireless environment including controllers and APs.
- Knowledge of IPS/IDS design as standalone hardware or as a feature within firewalls
- Strong knowledge of network management tools to facilitate troubleshooting, i.e. Wireshark, Netbrain, Extrahop, etc.
- Ability to implement, manage and administer Cisco ISE
