Job Title: Mechanical Technician | Location: Newport, RI | Full-Time
Description of Work:
PURVIS Systems is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Technician to work with our Naval Array Technical Support Center (NATSC) Facilities Team who is responsible for ensuring the facility and its equipment is always maintained and operational.
Responsibilities: This position is a member of the team supporting tasks including:
Ensuring that the facility equipment is maintained and operational.
Maintenance and repair of:
Pneumatic and pressurized systems
Hydraulic systems
Mechanical piping system
Plumbing systems such as water treatment systems, humidifiers, and dehumidifiers
Hands on work with compressors, rotary actuators, and valves.
Ensure shop and tools are organized and clean.
Qualifications:
High School CTE or Technical School diploma.
Experience with plumbing material such as couplings, reducing valves, relief valves, etc.
Experience with hydraulic systems and maintenance of hydraulic system components such as pumps, valves, actuators, vane pumps, pistons pumps, gear pump and fluids.
Electrical circuit knowledge a plus
Flexibility to work an occasional off shift or weekend as required
Candidate must have or be able to obtain a government security clearance to the level of SECRET.
