Installation Engineering Technician

Job Title: Installation Engineering Technician | Location: Middletown, RI | Full-Time

Description of Work:

PURVIS Systems is a technology solutions company that develops, implements, and maintains mission-critical solutions for Federal and Local Governments.  We have several immediate openings for Installation Engineering Technicians to support the preparation for and installation of systems onboard submarines.

Responsibilities: 

Installation Engineering Technicians will be members of a team that assembles, and tests finished products using sub-assemblies, parts, and fasteners. Fabricates and assembles cable harnesses, wires electrical chassis and electrical boxes.

Specific duties include:

  • Work with installation and engineering groups on mechanical and electrical layout/design of product updates and new product releases.

  • Fabricating and design cable harnesses and wire assemblies.

  • Wiring of electrical cables.

  • Develop installation kits for use by system installers for product installation.

  • Document and report work performed

  • Travel will be required for system installation

Candidate will be required to lift, pull, or carry items of approximate weight of 40 LBS and size in confined spaces including vertical ladders.  Candidate must possess good communication and documentation skills, disciplined, self-motivated work ethic; and the ability to thrive within a team environment.

Qualifications: 

Technical School or apprenticeship program in related field of electrical or electronic support and/or a minimum of 2-3 years of Electronic Technician work experience is required.  Additional considerations will be given to individuals with working knowledge of:

  • Computer hardware

  • Microsoft Office 

  • LINUX and/or Window operating system 

  • Ability to read engineering drawings

  • Military Background

  • Communications or Electronics Technician

Candidate must have or be able to obtain a government security clearance to the level of SECRET.
