Technical Project Manager/Systems Engineer

Job Title: Technical Project Manager/Systems Engineer | Location: Middletown, RI | Full-Time

Description of Work:

PURVIS Systems has an immediate opening for a full-time position to provide project management/system engineering oversite of cutting-edge prototype projects.  This position will support the Government Executing Agent (EA) and Deputy EA, who have been assigned by the Test & Evaluation/Science & Technology (T&E/S&T) Program Manager to address test technology gaps within the Department of Defense (DoD).  The candidate will be involved with the planning, execution, systems engineering, testing, and transition of projects, which are system or component developmental efforts involving both research & development as well as science & technology.

Responsibilities: 

Support to the Government EA and Deputy EA will include:

  • Early involvement with review of testing gaps or shortfalls to generate conceptual solutions and topics to be used for solicitation of solutions.
  • Assisting in the development of proposal packages and evaluation of proposals received including detailed technical analysis
  • Developing and executing system and component-level testing on prototypes.
  • Establishing and maintaining close working relationship with Government, Industry and Academia subject matter experts and other groups, to meet project objectives.
  • Supporting oversite of prototype product development including software, hardware, schedules, and social/environmental issues, as applicable.
  • Management of project specifications, design, testing, and maintenance.

Qualifications: 

The qualified candidate must have solid STEM skills, excellent communication skills, desire to learn, be collaborative, analytical with a strong attention to detail.

  • Bachelor’s degree in any technical or managerial discipline.
  • 10 years professional experience in program/project management.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong research capability.
  • Experience with identification and management of project risks.
  • Ability to work closely with Subject Matter Experts and DoD military and civilian personnel.
  • Some travel will be required.

Candidate must have a government security clearance to the level of SECRET.
