Wide-area Incident Tracking System

WITS uses secure wired/wireless network technology to provide tracking of incidents and allow collaboration of crucial information. The system allows the sharing of data among public safety agencies. It also allows an agency to request assistance from other agencies or communities during emergency situations.

WITS Core Concepts:

The Wide-area Incident Tracking System can be used at various critical locations during emergencies:

  • Hospitals
  • National Guard
  • Schools
  • Public Transportation

The WITS Graphical User Interface can operate in either a three-screen or single screen mode. The interface includes incident summary, incident history, incident details, unit status, client-to-client instant messaging capabilities and an ESRI-based map display.

  • Pentium III® 1.2 MHz processor or equivalent
  • 512 MB RAM

  • Ethernet adapter (10/100 wired or 802.11b wireless)

WITS GUI Clients - 3-Screen Optional System Requirements

  • (2) Additional VGA Monitors
  • Matrox Parhelia 128MB Triple-Head Video Adapter (for desktop PC) or
  • (2) Margi Display-to-Go 4MB PCMCIA VGA Video Adapter (for notebook PC)
