Applications Developer

Qualifications: Seeking an Applications Developer with strong Oracle database experience. This project involves the design, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of complex Oracle-based user applications using Oracle Development tools. Applications will be deployed in a J2EE environment running Oracle Weblogic Application Server.

In this new position, the candidate will interface directly with customers, project leaders and key team members of the FDNY’s Candidate Investigation Division.

Responsibilities: As the Lead Applications Developer, this position will work on various applications for the FDNY’s Candidate Investigation Division.

• Involved in all phases of system architecture, development and implementation
• Working closely with project leaders and key team members, will work to follow and modify requirements and project plans.
• Will review and/or design Oracle database structures needed for the various applications.
• Design and build robust applications in Oracle JDeveloper and Oracle ADF.
• Participate in code and design reviews.
• Support testing, integration and deployment efforts Develop and write all technical documentation.
• Prepare project status reports relating to this project.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business, along with 5 years of post-baccalaureate work experience in a computer-related occupation.
• Oracle development certification particularly in Java and Database would be a plus.
• Strong Oracle database application development skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Disciplined, self-motivated work ethic.
• Ability to thrive within a team environment.
