Electronic Technician

Qualifications: Associates degree in Electronics or graduate of a U.S. Navy electronics, technical school with one to four years experience in electrical/electronics systems. This position will require a government security clearance to the SECRET level. Candidate must demonstrate experience in troubleshooting fiber-related connectivity problems and basic working knowledge of server operations. Candidate must also have a basic working knowledge of Generator Operations and associated maintenance.

Job Description: This position will work on various pieces of equipment in various locations on-site at the Groton Submarine Base. Candidate will provide technical and maintenance support to the EHSS and its components, which include

• Diesel Generator Sets
• Electronic Equipment Enclosures
• Servers
• Fiber Optic cables and equipment
• Air Conditioners
• Radar Units
• Thermal and Color Cameras

Candidate will work independently and as part of a team environment to troubleshoot problems and conduct standard preventive maintenance. This includes working closely with base staff and security personnel to maintain the system to its fullest extent.

The Preventive Maintenance Schedule sheets and necessary tools to conduct maintenance are provided, along with the necessary safety equipment and protective gear.

This position requires the individual to physically climb several ladders that must be traversed during normal duties with this system. Necessary safety gear is provided.
