Business Development Consultant (District of Columbia)

Job Title: Business Development Consultant | Location: District of Columbia

Consultant will identify Federal Agency opportunities and win new contracts (prime and subcontract) related to the company’s engineering, public safety and information technology services, in the Washington, DC market area.  This position is also responsible to provide recommendations concerning the company’s strategies that might enable expansion into Federal Agency market areas.   Individual will have direct customer contact, may attend conferences and trade shows, and will also be responsible for opportunity identification, capture planning, proposal strategy and proposal development support.

Consultant will be responsible for identifying and scheduling meetings with potential customers, agency representatives and business partners.  Individual will work closely with PURVIS business development and technical personnel in all aspects of opportunity identification, qualification, pursuit, proposal development and closing.

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree required / Master’s Degree a plus
  • Experience in business development with Federal Agencies, such as Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Health and Human Services (HHS), Veterans Administration (VA)
  • Experience in and knowledge of the Federal procurement processes
  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with prime contractors
  • Prior management or business development experience in Federal Agencies. Successful track record of closing new business opportunities in the Federal Government marketplace / Experience with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is preferred.

Assignment may require travel outside of the National Capital Region to other company locations and customer facilities up to 10% of the time.

Description of Work:

Consultant will work on marketing, market research, and new business development.  Work requires strong communication skills and effective interaction with a variety of managers and technical professionals.  Additional duties include research, proposal and presentation development and support, as well as developing sales/promotional materials. Duties will include:

  • Federal Agency opportunity research, particularly in the areas of Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Health and Human Services (HHS) and Veterans Administration (VA)
  • Business partnership development and management
  • Research potential contract vehicle opportunities
  • Provide input to bid/no bid decisions
  • Develop strategies to win potential opportunities
  • Development of teaming arrangements, when applicable
  • Provide technical and management proposal input as required.
  • Plan and manage development of oral presentations
  • Provide concise, understandable and efficient written and verbal reports and presentations
  • Opportunity tracking and reporting using a PURVIS Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Electrical Design Engineer (Rhode Island)

We have an immediate opening for an Electrical Design Engineer.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.   The Electrical Engineer must have 5 – 7 years of professional experience.  The Electrical Engineer will work closely with Subject Matter Experts and Navy military and civilian personnel.  Strong knowledge and experience with CAD software.

Description of Work:  The Electrical Engineer will support U.S Navy submarine communication system designs and development including performance of the following tasks:

  • Review of system requirements.
  • Support design and development of cabling kits, circuit card assemblies and connector/mounting plates.
  • Perform investigations and analysis on Communication Systems.
  • Take systems from concept, to prototype, and through productions.
  • Solve technically challenging problems with a multi-disciplinary engineering approach.
  • Develop, adapt, modify, update, and maintain technical documentation for Communications Systems.

Senior Computer-Aided Designer/Drafter (Rhode Island)

Job Title: Sr Computer-Aided Designer/Drafter (CADD)  | Location: Newport, Rhode Island

Description of Work:   Working on-site at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Newport campus, the Computer-Aided Designer/Drafter will provide support to mechanical/electrical engineers in the development of drawings and technical documentation for submarine systems.

Designer/Drafter will prepare complex drawings or original designs that require a high degree of precision and drafting knowledge.  Designer/Drafter will ensure that the problems in manufacture, assembly, installation and operation are resolved by the produced set of drawings.  Independently exercise judgement in selecting and interpreting data based on knowledge of the design requirements.  Working at a level that involves more advanced design/drafting assignments and knowledge.  Provide support to junior level designer/drafters.

Degree:  High School Diploma, GED, Technical school Degree in Drafting, or CAD certification.  Designer/Drafter must have 7 to 10 years of experience in generating 3D models and 2D drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor or Solidworks software.  Ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel.  Customer interface skills.

System Engineer (Rhode Island)

Description of Work:  The System Engineer will support U.S Navy Torpedo and Sonar Countermeasure design, development, and test and evaluation including performance of the following tasks:

  • Review of system performance requirements.
  • Development of performance requirement specifications.
  • Preparation and review of design drawings,
  • Generation of test requirements and procedures
  • Coordination and execution of in-water testing to demonstrate system performance compliance

Architectural Drafter (Rhode Island)

PURVIS Systems is currently hiring for this position:

Job Title: Architectural Drafter | Location: Newport, RI

Qualifications: Associates or Technical Institute degree.  AutoCAD certification and experience.  Archibus and Revit software experience a plus.

Candidate must have demonstrated 2-3 years experience working for an architectural/engineering firm on projects related to facility design and construction.  Military construction experience is a plus.

A government clearance to the level of SECRET will be required prior to commencement of employment.

Description of Work:

Working with Project Engineers, candidates will be required to draft conceptual and construction drawings from rough sketch to draft and final revisions using AutoCAD 2012. Revisions of these drawings will be maintained in applicable electronic files/drawing libraries.  Compile draft specifications applicable to a project.  Prepare project documentation and ensure projects are in compliance with documentation requirements.

Candidate may also be part of the team maintaining the space planning and management program using Archibus and AutoCad.  This includes management of office space, updating floor plans based on remodeling and renovations, surveying personnel locations, maintain parking space allocations and preparing the quarterly space and occupancy report.

This position will require effective interpersonal skills and communications skills, as the position requires frequent interaction with various project engineers, customers and managers.

Systems Installer/Technician (Rhode Island)

Qualifications: Technical School or apprenticeship program in related field of electrical or electronic support. Minimum of 2 to 3 years of electronic technician work experience.
