Dedicated to Quality, Then and Now
PURVIS was founded on the principles of integrity, customer satisfaction delivery at all costs and a commitment to solving unique challenges and delivering solutions that were not thought possible. These principles remain a fundamental cornerstone for the company. We believe it’s why we continue to serve the clients featured below, among many others, to this day.
Soon after opening its doors, PURVIS was awarded major contracts by The U.S. Navy to assist in the specification and development of the TRIDENT Command and Control System at the Naval Underwater Systems Center (NUSC) (now called the Naval Undersea Warfare Center [NUWC]) in Newport, RI.
PURVIS expanded its focus to public safety in 1975 with a relationship with The City of New York Fire Department (FDNY) to provide technical services for the design of a Computer Aided Dispatch System (CADS), and later a contract for technical assistance in the implementation of a citywide communications network.
Today, PURVIS is a leading supplier of technology communications systems and services serving the defense and public safety marketplace. With offices located throughout the U.S. and a staff of more than 140 employees, we support some of the public sector’s most sophisticated organizations, such as National Institutes of Health, Boston Fire Department, NATO, Washington DC Fire and Rescue, and others.
The PURVIS Name
Before PURVIS was PURVIS, our co-founders worked together on an experimental sonar system program. Because much of their experience had involved sea-trials aboard the U.S. destroyer USS HUGH PURVIS, it was only fitting their experience evolved into our company name, which is spelled out here by nautical flags.
